Cheater!

Yesterday  I "cheated." I figured that if I could get a head start on my new year's resolution, then, when January 1st comes, I would be ahead of the game. So I shredded a large amount of sundry papers in the back office, and now I can at least see the top of my desk again! Congratulations to me!

Better, yes? Now to polish the desk.

One of the many books I've read on the topic of organizing cautioned me to make a start date, and not let myself get going on my new regime until that date. The idea is to build "anticipation."  pffft! In my case all that will build is dread!While shredding  papers didn't give me the most enjoyable afternoon of my life, it also wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It took me a lot longer than an hour, though. Oh well- I'm not bound by the rules I've created for myself yet, so maybe I can be sneaky and get some stuff done so that my resolution will be less overwhelming when the time comes. bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha.
